about

So, if you can't tell, this album is named after a Sonic Youth lyric from the song "Expressway to Yr Skull." I got fired from a job I loved here in Chicagoland and, finding ways to stave off depression, tuned my guitar to one of their tunings (F#F#F#F#EB; "Kool Thing," "Death Valley '69," "Star Power," Lee on "Catholic Block," A BUNCH others) and wrote a bunch of songs in that tuning. Including this extant piece of work, the most buoyant, effervescent pile of gibberish I've ever written that couldn't be more dissimilar to that band. I love it so much.

lyrics

Come in alone, come right along
You're the best thing I've ever had
Walk in the park, or wait til it's dark
You're the best thing I've ever had
Look you right in the eye
Poke your tongue out and I
Think it's all just the best
Stick a pin in my chest
Never see you in jeans, don't know what that means
You're the best thing I've ever had

Nobody sticks around when you walk in
They look at you and they get to talking
But nobody makes a sound anymore

Sleep until eight, the cat was up late
You're the best thing I've ever had
Poke out your tongue, "puncha your buns"
You're the best thing I've ever had
When the world will collapse
And there's no turning back
We did all that we could
I'll at least be with someone good

One two three
